Bittinger Fire & Rescue Personnel Attend Wildland Fire Academy for S-130 and S-212 Training
10 Members of the Bittinger Volunteer Fire Department attended the Wildland Fire Academy this week held at Garrett College. Eight members completed S-130 Firefighter Training and two members completed S-212 Wildland Fire Chainsaws courses. These nationally recognized courses provide essential skills for wildland firefighting operations.
S-130 covers wildland fire behavior, firefighting techniques, safety, and teamwork in wildfire environments. S-212 provides hands-on instruction in chainsaw operation, maintenance, and safety, which is critical for fireline construction and hazard mitigation.
This training strengthens Bittinger VFD’s ability to protect local communities and support regional wildfire response efforts. We commend our personnel for their dedication and commitment to professional development. |
