Bittinger volunteers responded to the Peat Moss Rd area earlier this afternoon for a brush fire. Units arrived on scene and found a controlled burn that had gotten out of control and spread through an open field and into the woods. The fire was quickly brought under control by personnel on scene. Approximately 3 acres burned.
